About The Sentinel

Launched in 1983 in the city of Guwahati, in the state of Assam, The Sentinel is a broadsheet English daily newspaper with a circulation of 150,000. It has four editions published simultaneously from Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Shillong and Itanagar and caters to the entire North Eastern region of India which includes Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim. It is enjoyed by people because of its language and intellectual approach. Its strong and powerful editorial commentaries in flawless English are the core strength of this newspaper. Besides, it provides much local news of the region along with other regional, national and international developments in politics, fashion, lifestyle, financial, business, sports, entertainment and whatever helps its readership keep updated to keep growing.

For advertisers, The Sentinel has several categories like Matrimonial (Every Sunday), Change of Name, Recruitment, Obituary, Remembrance, Public Notice, Court Notice, Property (for Sale and for Rent), Business and much else.

For their benefit, The Sentinel has three formats for advertising. These are:

Classified Text: This cheapest option of advertising is in the form of text ads in the classified section. These are printed on The Sentinel’s classified pages in run-on-line (ROL) text format. At extra cost, enhancements like screen, tick, colour for more visibility can be made. Ads are charged according to the number of words/lines subject to conditions.

Classified Display: This costlier option is charged per square cm of the area used for the advertisement. There is a constraint to the size of Classified Display (CD) Ads, but it can be customised using logo, image, different fonts and colour to enhance the advertisement. Classified Display Ads appear on a specific page or supplement of the newspaper.

Display: This costliest option has no constraints about the sizes of the ads and is also charged per square cm of the area used for the advertisement. One can choose Full Page, Half Page, Quarter Page or any other size of ad besides the Page and Position

Rebates: Every edition of The Sentinel has a different rate. However, repetition in the same ad or combo-rates with more than one edition may result in an overall cost-reduction.
