Recruitment Advertisement

The need for a Recruitment Advertisement arises when organisation has vacancies either because employees leave or it is expanding operations. In either case there are vacancies to be filled. There are many ways in which this done but the most prominent are two media: electronic and press. Both have their own reach and speed but on-line ads have a shorter life than those in newspapers which can last as long as the paper is stored.

Recruitment advertisements can be placed in any language in over 1,000 newspapers which are members of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) the governing body of newspaper functions in the country. All the newspapers carry advertisements in various categories like Matrimonial, Property, Recruitment, Lost and Found, Education, Business, Personal, Court Notices, Public Notices, Change of Name, Travel, Obituary, Remembrance, Services, Computers etc.

Thus, recruitment ads can be printed in any of three formats:

Recruitment Classified Text Ads: This cheapest option of advertising is in the form of text ads in the classified section. These are printed on the newspaper’s classified pages in run-on-line (ROL) text format. At extra cost, enhancements like screen, tick, colour for more visibility can be made. Ads are charged @ Rs/word, line or character subject to the newspaper’s policies.

Recruitment Classified Display Ads: This costlier option is charged per square cm of the area used for the advertisement. There is a constraint to the size of Classified Display (CD) Ads, but it can be customised using logo, image, different fonts and colour to enhance the advertisement. Classified Display Ads appear on a specific page or supplement of the newspaper.

Recruitment Display Ads: This costliest option has no constraints about the sizes of the ads and is also charged per square cm of the area used for the advertisement. One can choose Full Page, Half Page, Quarter Page or any other size of ad besides the Page and Position.

Rebates: Every edition of every newspaper has a different rate for recruitment or vacancy advertisement. However, repetition in the same edition or combo-rates with more than one edition may result in an overall cost-reduction.
